Orientation of the curriculum The educational and professional curriculum is applied in nature. It is based on innovative ideas, concepts, paradigms, theories, and other results of modern scientific research in the design and use of special technologies, as well as the analysis of the development of physical therapy, within which further professional career growth or continuation of studies to obtain a master’s degree is possible.

The educational and professional curriculum is grounded in the achievements of science and practice, with a focus on the formation of specialists in physical therapy, taking into account the current state of higher education and the Higher Education Standard.

Main focus of the curriculum and specializations Special education and professional training in physical therapy.

Features of the curriculum  The educational and professional curriculum is aimed at developing general and specific (professional) competencies as defined by the Higher Education Standard for the first (bachelor’s) level in the specialty 227 Physical Therapy, Ergotherapy, approved by the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated December 19, 2018, No. 1419.

The educational and professional curriculum aligns with the recommendations of the project for harmonizing the structure of European higher education and the requirements of professional associations: World Confederation for Physical Therapy: «Policy Statements»

 

Eligibility  for employment Graduates are capable of holding positions where the qualification requirements include having a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy or occupational therapy in entities engaged in the following types of economic activities (according to the Ukrainian Classification of Economic Activities, KVED DK 009:2010):

  • 86.10 Hospital activities
  • 93.12 Activities of sports clubs
  • 93.13 Activities of fitness centers.

Graduates may hold, in particular, the following entry-level positions (according to KVED DK 003:2010):

  • 3226 Physical therapist assistant
  • 3226 Occupational therapist assistant
  • 3226 Masseur
  • 3226 Sports masseur.
Further education  Graduates can continue their education to obtain higher education at the second (master’s) level and acquire additional qualifications in the system of postgraduate education.
Assessment Student assessment for all types of in-class and out-of-class learning activities aimed at mastering the academic workload of the educational program.

Current control: surveys, presentations during practical/seminar sessions, checking the results of individual tasks, presentations, checking the material learned independently by the student.

Semester control: exams and credits based on the total points accumulated during the study of disciplines, defense of the internship report.

Assessment is conducted on a 100-point scale. The final assessment of higher education seekers is carried out in the form of a final exam or a public defense of the qualification work.
