Main focus of the curriculum and specializations | The educational and scientific curriculum involves the formation of a scientific worldview, the creation of new holistic knowledge and/or professional practice, the development of the competencies necessary for carrying out scientific and research activities in educational institutions, and the solution of problems of the theory and methodology of teaching physical education for people of different ages and genders, including those with physical disabilities, as a result of scientific research.

Features of the curriculum | The curriculum is aimed at professional training of a teacher-researcher in the field of education, in particular physical education; the opportunity to develop/improve social skills (soft skills) and participate in academic mobility programs. The curriculum focuses on the formation of competencies in the research, innovative scientific and pedagogical direction and the achievement of planned learning outcomes, taking into account the individual characteristics and needs of postgraduate students. The implementation of the program is ensured by the educational and academic conditions for the acquisition of general and professional competencies. Scientific and pedagogical staff involved in the implementation of the educational and scientific curriculum are authors of fundamental and applied scientific works, leaders of scientific schools and founders of original scientific concepts, have completed internships in European and Ukrainian higher education institutions, have experience in international cooperation in the educational and scientific field, and are able to motivate to productive activity.
The educational component is aimed at studying scientific and theoretical courses, multidisciplinary, interactive training for the implementation of research and experimental work, as well as improving professional teaching skills. The scientific component involves conducting individual scientific and pedagogical research on a relevant topic in the field of education, in particular physical education (analysis and interpretation of results, their testing and implementation in the educational process, publication of the results. |
Eligibility for employment | Graduates are recommended to be employed in positions which require a PhD degree, in particular, research, scientific and pedagogical work in higher education institutions, research institutions in the field of education, work in institutions and bodies managing the education system, etc.
A graduate can be an expert, consultant and advisor on professional issues in state and private institutions, in executive bodies, local governments, in public organizations in the field of education. Graduates can be employed in positions according to the state classifier of professions DK 003:2010

Assessment | Educational component. Knowledge assessment is carried out based on the results of current and final tests, exams, implementation and defense of course projects. Assessment of learning outcomes is carried out on the principles of objectivity, systematicity and coherence, and clarity of the assessment methodology.
Scientific component. Assessment is carried out on the basis of quantitative and qualitative indicators, characterized by the preparation of scientific papers and individual parts of the dissertation in accordance with the approved individual plan of the postgraduate student’s scientific work; testing of research results at scientific conferences, congresses, webinars, etc. A public presentation of the research results is carried out twice a year (every semester) and a final annual certification is carried out at the end of an academic year. |
