On March 16-21, the Ukrainian Junior Weightlifting Championship was held in Khust. Andrii Shpychka (second year student) became the Ukrainian Junior Champion under 20. He had no equal in the 102 kg weight category. In the snatch, the athlete recorded 130 kg, and in the clean and jerk 150 kg.
The bronze medalists were Serhii Lysheha (second year student) in the 73 kg weight category and Yurii Ripych (year student) in the 102 kg weight category.
