A visa for study in Ukraine (type D-13) is a special visa issued to foreigners and stateless persons who plan to study at higher education institutions in Ukraine. This visa provides for a temporary residence permit, which allows students to stay in the country for the entire period of study.
To apply for a student visa to Ukraine (D-13), you can submit documents for consideration:
- To the Embassy or Consulate of Ukraine abroad: Contact the appropriate diplomatic mission of Ukraine located in your country. This may be an embassy or consulate, where you will be provided with the necessary instructions and documents. Please note that the documents should be submitted no earlier than 3 months before the planned trip. To apply for a visa, you can register on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine – create an account to enter your personal account, where you can fill out a visa application form, register it for consideration and track the status of your visa application. Before registering, you can check whether you need a visa to enter Ukraine or transit through its territory. Through the visa centres of Ukraine abroad: Use the services of one of the 74 visa centres operating in cooperation with Ukrainian diplomatic missions abroad. These centres are located in 47 countries and provide an opportunity for foreigners and stateless persons residing in these countries to apply for a visa – https://visa.vfsglobal.com/nld/en/ukr
To apply for a visa, you must submit the following documents:
- A passport document that must meet the following requirements:
• Be valid for at least 3 months after the planned date of departure from the territory of Ukraine.
• Contain at least 2 free pages.
• The validity of the passport must not exceed 10 years. - Completed and signed visa application form.
- One colour photograph of 35×45 mm in size.
- A valid health insurance policy covering expenses for at least EUR 30,000 or the equivalent in another currency. This requirement does not apply to persons using a diplomatic or service passport.
- Documents confirming the availability of sufficient financial security for the period of the planned stay in Ukraine and for returning to the country of origin or transit to a third country. It may also be necessary to prove that the person can obtain sufficient financial security legally in Ukraine. These requirements are regulated by the Procedure for Confirming Sufficient Financial Security of Foreigners and Stateless Persons for Entry into, Stay in, Transit through and Departure from Ukraine. When considering a visa application for a multiple-entry visa, the availability of sufficient financial security for the period of the first planned trip to Ukraine is checked. This requirement does not apply to persons holding a diplomatic or service passport.
- A document confirming the payment of the consular fee, if required by the legislation and international treaties of Ukraine.
- For a student visa to Ukraine (D-13), in addition to the above documents, you must also provide an invitation to study (internship) issued by a higher education institution and registered in accordance with the procedure established by the Ministry of Education and Science.
