Specialty 242 «Tourism and Recreation»

Orientation of the curriculum The curriculum is aimed at training the specialists with a good command of modern knowledge, methods and tools for analysis, synthesis and implementation of effective activities in the field of tourism.
Main focus of the curriculum The educational program is focused on the formation and development of the specialists’ professional competencies for efficient activities in the field of tourism.
Features of the curriculum Interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary training of specialists in the field of tourism with priority on practical component.
Eligibility for employment Employment at tourism enterprises and organizations of any organizational and legal forms.

Graduates can be employed for the following positions, according to the Ukrainian qualification of professions:

  • 3414 Specialist in tourism service;
  • 3414 Travel (excursions) manager;
  • 3414 Tour guide;
  • 3414 Specialist in leisure service;
  • 3414 Specialist in rural tourism;
  • 3414 Specialist in conference facilities;
  • 3414 Specialist in specialized service;
  • 3414 Instructor of recreational and sports tourism (by types of tourism);
  • 3414 Specialist in tourism safety;
  • 3340 Instructor-methodologist in tourism;
  • 3439 Tourism inspector;
  • 2482.1 Specialist in hospitality (hotels, tourist complexes)
Further education Advanced study for a Master’s degree.

Postgraduate education in related and other specialties; advanced training; academic mobility.

Assessment Oral and written exams, credits (incl. differentiated), defence of practice report, state certification of the graduate.
