073 Management

The curriculum includes:

  1. Compulsory educational components – 63 ECTS credits (70%), including:
    • practical training – 9 ECTS credits;
    • writing and defending a master’s thesis – 18 ECTS credits.
  2. Elective components (student’s free choice) – 27 ECTS credits (30%).
Orientation of the curriculum Educational and professional. The structure of the curriculum provides a complex of knowledge, acquiring skills and abilities in managing teams of people, developing modern enterprises, institutions and organizations, as well as the possibility of further training in scientific programs and career growth.
Main focus of the curriculum and specializations Professional education in the field of management. The curriculum is based on modern concepts of management, taking into account the peculiarities of management decision-making processes in the domestic business environment. The curriculum implements an increase in the level of management and control of enterprises and the development of modern management; training and development of modern managers: entrepreneurs, risk-taking, proactive and capable of rapid adaptation. The curriculum is aimed at forming managers with a new prospective way of thinking, capable not only of applying existing management methods, but also of developing new ones based on modern scientific achievements.
Features of the curriculum and its uniqueness The curriculum provides training for management specialists and the development of their skills in the field of management of modern organizations and their divisions in various types of economic activity. It is focused on training modern managers, proactive, creative and capable of rapid adaptation in the business environment. 

The curriculum provides the opportunity for applicants to choose educational components that reveal the features of enterprise management in the service and sports sectors.

Eligibility for employment A Master in Management can hold positions at the primary level of management of structural units, operational systems and processes in organizations. The graduate is eligible for employment in positions in accordance with the National Classifier of Occupations (in Ukrainian: ДК 003:2010): managers (administrators) of enterprises, institutions, organizations and their divisions; managers (administrators) of travel agencies and travel bureaus; managers (administrators) in organizing the activities of travel agencies and travel bureaus; managers (administrators) in wholesale trade and trade mediation; managers (administrators) in retail trade of household and non-food goods and their maintenance; managers (administrators) in retail trade of household goods; managers (administrators) in retail trade of non-food goods; managers (administrators) in retail trade of food goods; managers (administrators) in hotels and other places of accommodation; managers (administrators) in the hotel industry; managers (administrators) in catering; managers (administrators) in real estate operations, leasing and services to legal entities; managers (administrators) in real estate operations for third parties; managers (administrators) in the field of leasing of machines and equipment; managers (administrators) in the field of providing information; managers (administrators) in the field of research and development; managers (administrators) in accounting; managers (administrators) in market research and public opinion; managers (administrators) in commercial activities and management; managers (administrators) in advertising; managers (administrators) in the selection, provision and use of personnel; managers (administrators) in the selection, provision and use of personnel; managers (administrators) in education, health care and social sphere; managers (administrators) in the social sphere; managers (administrators) in other types of economic activity; managers (administrators) in housing and communal services; managers (administrators) in the field of culture, recreation and sports; managers (administrators) of quality systems; managers (administrators) in social and corporate responsibility; managers (administrators) in other types of economic activity, not classified in other groups; heads of enterprises, institutions and organizations; heads of departments in the field of culture, recreation and sports, heads of other main departments in other areas of activity; heads of human resources departments, social and labor relations; heads of small enterprises-hotels and restaurant establishments without a management apparatus; heads of small enterprises without a management apparatus in commercial service; managers (administrators) in hotels and other places of accommodation; managers (administrators) in restaurant establishments.
Further education The opportunity to continue studies at the third (doctoral) level of higher education that corresponds to the 8th level of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) of Ukraine and the 8th level of EQF-LLL. 

Acquisition of additional qualifications in the postgraduate education system.

Assessment Types of control: current, thematic, periodic, final, self-control.

Current oral and written ways of assessment, module control, test control, presentation of scientific works, essay, defense of practice reports. 

Final control – exams, tests and differentiated tests are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the «Regulations on the organization and conduct of current and final control and the mechanism for appealing students’ learning results» of Ivan Boberskyi Lviv State University of Physical Culture.

Final certification – defense of the master’s qualification work (thesis).
